The challenge.
Red Hat’s new Co.Lab event was designed to introduce middle school girls to open-source technology principles. Students would learn how to collaborate and problem solve as the curriculum lead participants through building and coding their own devices.
Red Hat sought a partner to build a dynamic and engaging platform for this open-source initiative. The webpage required a flexible CMS that would allow the 25 students participating in the event to access new content for the 3-day event.
To best engage a younger audience, the site had to have visual appeal and dynamic interactions.
Our solution.
Atlantic BT developed the CO.LAB site using the Drupal framework for a flexible CMS.
This CMS allowed Red Hat to easily update content for each day of the Co.Lab event with project details, video, and additional content. Collaborating with a Boston-based web design firm, we created a solid code foundation including support for dynamic user interactions.
The result: an event that Red Hat considered to be a huge success, helping to advance the brand and open-source technology to a new generation of students.
