Company Overview

GT Distributors is a nationally recognized supplier of law enforcement, first responder, and fire department equipment and supplies. They have been in business since 1972 and operate five stores across the southeastern region of the United States.

The Ask

In addition to their brick-and-mortar storefronts, GT Distributors also generates B2B revenue through an eCommerce store developed using Adobe Commerce / Magento. As the company grew, the Magento platform became a hindrance to creating new content and running product promotions. They knew the required modifications would be too complex for their internal team to handle. And they would need a trusted team of PHP Developers for their Magento website maintenance, like Atlantic BT.

Our Magento Website Maintenance Process

Discovery

While the Atlantic BT/GT Distributors partnership is mainly Magento website maintenance focused, we perform Mobile UX Audit and Accessibility Evaluations to ensure that the website remains user friendly.

Development

We began working with GT Distributors 10 years ago on a technology upgrade project of Magento 1 to Magento 2, while also customizing the ecommerce application to fit GT’s needs. We also built an integration with their backend ERP to facilitate data sharing between their brick-and-mortar stores and their eCommerce store. With eCommerce sales accounting for a significant portion of overall revenues, GT Distributors recognized the importance of always having a team of Magento website maintenance team on hand.

Design

We have updated their home page design on two occasions and improved the desktop and mobile menu design.

With a more performant and secure Magento 2 eCommerce platform, GT Distributors saw a significant increase in online sales that first year after launching their newly upgraded store. Through an annual Magento website maintenance contract, Atlantic BT continues to assist GT Distributors with modifications to enhance their ecommerce strategy, like new feature developments to improve the customer journey.
