Local government WordPress web design agency project

North Carolina League of District Attorneys

Preview of the website redesign for NCCDA

The North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys (The Conference) provides valuable resources and support to prosecutors and their law enforcement partners. In 2023, their website required a visual update and enhanced functionality to support its users’ growing needs. The primary objective was to establish unified branding across their main site and all District Attorney subsites. In addition, they needed their website to be user friendly for both attorneys, staff and victims of crimes to find resources and the DA information they need. The Conference collaborated with Atlantic BT, a WordPress web design agency, to reimagine their local government website.

The Conference leaders aimed to simplify the website navigation to help attorneys, staff and victims of crimes find the needed resources quickly. They faced issues with “catch-all” pages that were not intuitive and disparate designs across various DA websites. Given their extensive WordPress web design agency experience, The Conference entrusted Atlantic BT with the redesign process of their local government website. The end goal – to better suit their members’ needs while uniting the District Attorneys of North Carolina under one brand.

Atlantic BT began Discovery with a combination of user interviews and card sorting with various user types. This helped uncover usability issues on the website as well as intuitive ways to organize the site’s architecture. We then reorganized the site structure based on the information gathered during those interviews.

We created user roles so that District Attorneys could edit the information on their own microsite. Performance monitoring and ongoing support were set up to maintain the website’s functionality and effectiveness.

We started with a concept board island inspiration and design analysis incorporating NCCDA’s brand to use across the main site and all DA microsites. This was followed by fleshing out different page templates with wireframes and mockups.

The redesign of the North Carolina Conference of District Attorneys’ website by Atlantic BT resulted in a significantly more cohesive and professional online presence. The unified branding across the main site and all District Attorney subsites not only enhances the visual appeal but also instills greater confidence in users by presenting a polished, professional interface. Moreover, the streamlined navigation and improved functionality ensure that attorneys, staff, and victims of crimes can quickly and easily access the information and resources they need. This project exemplifies how a government WordPress web design agency can leverage thoughtful design and user-centric development to effectively meet the evolving needs of a diverse user base, fostering a more efficient and supportive online environment.
