University WordPress website redesign & partnership.

Campbell University enrolls more North Carolinians than any private college or university in the state. Generations of state leaders in business, medicine and law have graduated from Campbell University. However, their website was failing to deliver on the University’s promise. Through a WordPress website redesign partnership with Atlantic BT, Campbell built a cohesive digital ecosystem that engages students and staff across all devices and departments.

Campbell University is an established presence in North Carolina’s higher education landscape. They have over 150 degree programs across 10 academic divisions, five doctorate professional degrees, and are one of only three private universities in North Carolina to achieve the highest level of accreditation.

The ask.

Campbell University is the private university of choice in North Carolina, but their online presence was failing to live up to their high standards. 75% of Campbell University’s students and staff reported difficulty finding information on the university’s website. The domain consisted of over 8,000 unique web pages that lacked a unified digital experience. The homepage failed to engage aspiring students and the website was not mobile-friendly. Campbell needed a full website redesign.

The solution.

We facilitated stakeholder workshops to understand pain points and identify elements common to each school. We analyzed which pages, images and videos would best engage their audience. We developed a new user-centric content strategy and navigation in WordPress and moved the site search to SwiftType to provide more robust search capabilities. We built a new device agnostic sitemap and set up a powerful content delivery network using Amazon CloudFront

The end result.

Campbell.edu became a cohesive digital ecosystem that engages students and staff across all devices. The site navigation is easy to follow, content loads more rapidly, and the site is now secure with the addition of a Web Application Firewall. “With a robust and brand-consistent platform we are now in a much better position to serve the needs of our campuses,” said Haven Hottel, Assistant VP for Communications & Marketing at Campbell University.
