The Ask

Lionheart Alliance approached Atlantic BT with a complex issue regarding their new BigCommerce theme. While the updated theme offered significant improvements in aesthetics and accessibility—making it a more attractive option for the future—it also required substantial rework to align the templates and color schemes with their original site. Additionally, the new theme introduced the challenge of preserving custom code, as any customizations implemented were at risk of being overwritten during routine theme updates. This required careful documentation and consistent backups to ensure that the site remained functional and customized to Lionheart Alliance’s needs. To navigate these challenges, Lionheart Alliance turned to Atlantic BT for expert guidance and support.

Development

To tackle Lionheart Alliance’s challenges with their BigCommerce theme, Atlantic BT implemented a thorough development approach. Additionally, we developed custom bash scripts to integrate a continuous integration and deployment process. These scripts automated deployments into the environment, enabling thorough QA before pushing any changes live. They also dynamically applied the theme name and tracked deployment dates, improving overall pipeline management. Lastly, we enhanced the theme’s responsiveness at key breakpoints where the purchased theme fell short, ensuring a smoother, more consistent user experience across all devices.
