Jennifer Reaves

Front End Developer

About

Dear Friends,

This is the kind of letter you can’t imagine writing, even when you’re actually doing it. There are so many things to share about the Jennifer we all loved.

Jennifer had a unique and wonderful personality. She was always friendly, energetic, and quick to laugh. There was always something about her that made her seem younger than her actual years. Maybe it was that she came to ABT fresh out of school at UNCW, and as we got to see her grow up, she never lost that sparkle.

In her 13 years at ABT, Jennifer grew as a person and as a professional. Everyone here would tell you she worked hard—really, really hard. She always wanted to learn more and be better. She helped others do more and be better too. Sometimes by teaching them, sometimes just by asking the kind of thoughtful questions that made everyone think differently.

Because of who she was, Jenn became part of the fabric of the company. She helped so many clients bring their ideas to life. As a Front-End Developer, she took design ideas and basic interfaces and turned them into what people see and interact with on the web. She helped write the code that makes this website work. Her fingerprints are everywhere—in our projects, our culture, and in the way we work together.

But what we’ll remember most isn’t just her work—it’s who she was. Her smile. Her kindness. Her young heart. Her willingness to show up for each and all of us when we needed her. Jennifer made this a better place, and she made us better people.

We miss her deeply. And we know so many of you do too.

Please keep Jennifer’s family and loved ones in your thoughts. We have organized a GoFundMe page where we are matching donations up to $5,000 to support her young daughter Reagan. We’ll share more when we can.

With heavy hearts,

Jon Jordan, CEO
On behalf of all of us at ABT

Here is a wonderful post from one of Jenn’s co-workers and long-time friends.
