Hello!

At Atlantic BT, Doug acts as our resident Chief Investigator of Logs and Recoverer of Broken Things, bringing extensive experience in infrastructure operations, Linux hosting, automation, and monitoring. Guided by the belief that every problem leaves clues, he uses dashboards and observability to find the evidence he needs to turn chaos into clarity. His deep tech background spans from testing storage hardware and serving as a network engineer for a 1990s startup ISP, all the way to leading modern hosting and cloud operations.

When Doug closes his work laptop, he is usually opening a personal one to experiment with self-hosting services and smart automation. Outside of IT, he is an Amateur Radio General Class operator, a community volunteer, and a lifelong learner who loves history and science. He is a non-stop tinkerer—whether he is working on a server, a radio, or something that probably wasn’t supposed to be automated.

Fun Fact: At least one of Doug’s two cats was probably sitting right beside him while this sentence was being written!
