The NC Department of Commerce needed an updated website presence. They also wanted to leverage the NC Digital Commons platform to take advantage of DIT’s centralized support services and its modern technology platform.
However, the DoC had a niche user base of corporate executives and relocation consultants, and they had limited staff resources for implementation.
Atlantic BT has a refined Discovery process well-suited for government agency rollouts, which we were able to apply. We interviewed key personnel in economic development and business relocation consulting to understand their needs. Additionally, we ran workshops with regional community development and workforce teams to ensure all user groups were considered. We used insights from these sessions to create an information architecture, navigation, and content strategy that met DoC’s strategic objectives. We then collaborated with DIT and other partners to ensure seamless transition from our Discovery work to DIT for development and launch.
