The first step to improving your digital strategy is understanding what’s not working with your current digital strategy. Are you not hitting your new customer acquisition goals? Revenue by customer?
The list is unlimited, but if you don’t know what part of your strategy you’re missing on, you can’t possibly fix it.
When you put together your digital strategy, you should establish a set of KPI’s (key performance indicators) you use to track the performance of your organization and specifically your digital strategy. These are derived from the strategy itself (what are you trying to improve?).
Once you have narrowed down the specific areas where your current digital strategy is failing or underperforming, you can start to figure out how to fix it. Find solutions by analyzing competitors, researching case studies, and talking to industry experts. Once you have a good idea what is causing your current strategy to fail, clearly identify the action items required to change your trajectory and the individuals who will be accountable for the results going forward.
Keep in mind, there might be nothing wrong with your strategy. Your issue might also lie in poor execution. Execution is usually more difficult than the actual strategy. If you are struggling with your strategy or execution, give us a call — we can help.
