Website Traffic Tools
- I have heard there are programs that will tell me how much traffic my website is getting. Can you recommend the best one for my company?
There are many web tracking solutions out there; it really comes down to what you want out of an analytics solution. If you want to track things like number of daily/monthly visitors, what keywords are driving traffic, where people are coming from in the world, what they do on your site, etc…than I would recommend Google Analytics. Google Analytics is a free web analytics solution that is perfect for understanding visitor engagement with your site. The other alternative is to purchase a professional web analytics suite that is much more robust and has extra features that Google Analytics lacks. I would only recommend this route to enterprise type companies that may need to have more sophisticated tracking. If you are doing multiple marketing campaigns and investing tens of thousands of dollars, then it may be worth it to have the additional web data to analyze. Keep in mind, that if you do decide to use a paid analytics solution, it would be smart to have an in-house analyst who can identify trends and patterns in the data, to ultimately make recommendations on how you can improve your marketing ROI.
