Using old browser
- I designed my own website several years ago and it has worked well for my company. Now customers are calling and telling me that it looks messed up. I have checked it on my computer and asked people I know to check it and they say it looks fine. Do you know what the problem might be?
When you originally built your website it probably worked just fine with the browsers that were popular at the time. Since then several new browsers have been released and the original browsers have all been updated. It's possible that neither you nor any of the people you know are using the latest browsers. The most current browsers are Microsoft Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and for Macs, Apple's Safari.
To properly test your site it is recommended to download all of these free browsers and browse your site in each one. If you are good with source code you can hopefully tweak your site to be compatible. If the site was designed with FrontPage® or another WYSIWIG editor and you’re not familiar with the underlying source code you may have more trouble getting it to look right.
If you provide us with the URL of your website our developers can offer some suggestions or you can try posting to a web design forum.
