- I was wondering if there are ways to monitor when anyone mentions my company name, employee names, our product/services, etc. on the web? Are there tools that will check websites, blogs, forums, social networking sites and discussion boards?
Yes, there are a number of tools out there that will monitor what we call your “reputation management.” A tool that we use internally is called Trackur. This is an extremely powerful tool that allows you to enter in any keyword as it scours the web for any mention of it. It covers websites, blogs, forums, discussions boards, social networks, and networking sites. You can visit the site and sign up for a free trial to see if you like it.
A few other sites to look at are Social Mention, BoardTracker, and Who’s Talkin.
Also try Google Alerts, Yahoo Alerts, and MSN alerts. You can set up these services to email you whenever your keyword is mentioned in their search engine.
