Hosting Guarantee
- I am looking for a reliable web hosting service that will ensure my site will stay online. Do any hosting companies guarantee that my site will stay online 100% of the time?
There are quite a few companies that guarantee 100% uptime but I don’t know of many that guarantee uptime for shared hosting accounts. The reason is that with hundreds or thousands of customers on each server, the uptime is often at the mercy of what those customers do with their accounts. If a single customer installs a poorly running script it can bring down the server until the problem can be fixed.
For the companies that do offer guarantees you will have to read their guarantees carefully because they often aren’t very strong. In other words, you may find that you get a few dollars back if they don’t meet their uptime goal or the guarantee might only include network uptime which is easier to maintain than overall server and network uptime.
