Displaying an E-mail Address on a Website
- I have heard that it’s not a good idea to put my e-mail address on my website. Is that true and how can people contact me if I don’t list my e-mail address?
It depends. If you do decide to have an e-mail address on your website, you will want to make sure to have some sort of spam control so that your inbox is not being flooded with bad emails. You will also want to make sure that it is a professional email address (ex. info@yourdomain.com). As an alternative, a contact form is the preferred method which allows you to track each time there is a successful submission. Contact forms also allow you to collect constant demographics on your visitors (Name, Email, and Phone Number.) rather than a potentially vague email inquiry.
