- I keep getting e-mails that say a company can get me #1 rankings on Google for $150. I am currently paying a lot more than that. This sounds like a good deal, do I have anything to lose by giving it a try?

SEO providers that promise to deliver a #1 ranking on Google are unethically making claims in order to obtain your business, with potentially little regard to the long term success of your website. Providers of this nature oftentimes use spam techniques including linking from “bad neighborhoods” which could harm the credibility and ranking of your website. In fact, it should be an immediate red flag when an SEO company makes the claim they can procure the #1 spot on Google particularly for a competitive keyword phrase. Additionally, legitimate SEO companies will not have to resort to unsolicited email to obtain business as they are most likely generating relevant traffic via their own website.
