No Kid Hungry
No Kid Hungry, part of the Washington, DC based nonprofit Share Our Strength, is a movement of people committed to making sure that no child in America is hungry.
This interactive, action-oriented campaign has focused on an advocacy-based model to enact a sea of people, pushing them to get involved in this ever-important issue in our Country, that of childhood hunger.
Using popular food brands, celebrity chefs, successful US restaurants and spokesmen like Jeff (The “Dude”) Bridges, the No Kid Hungry campaign has become a role model of how grass-roots efforts can lead to important changes that impact society and individuals lives.
Their Take Action website initiative has an army over 200,000 strong, enabling budgeting and legislation for childhood hunger issues to stay front of mind. But it could be STRONGER, more targeted and therefore, more effective.
This is where the Atlantic BT $25,000 Mobile Grant comes in.
Creating the ability to become a No Kid Hungry mobile advocate would help this cause engage more Americans who care about a fundamental right for all humans, the right to have nourishment. Without proper nutrition, children’s brains cannot function at an optimal capacity to learn. This is a huge problem and one that can trickle down to how prosperous their entire life may or may not be.

By extending the advocacy campaign to the mobile web, No Kid Hungry will be able to drill down to the state and local levels with their advocacy efforts. People are impassioned by the ability to make a difference in their community, particularly by sharing the one thing we all have a right to share – our voice.
By enabling people to not only ACT to support legislative and budgeting initiatives from their smartphone, but SHARE such actions with their circle how they can do the same – the Atlantic BT Mobile Grant would help Share Our Strength’s efforts to eradicate Childhood Hunger.
And that, my friends, would be a very good thing.
