I was born on a stormy and humid June night. Somewhere in eastern North Carolina, a woman paced back and forth carrying a suit case. She yelled “Luke, it’s time! We have to go NOW!” His vacant response was “One more minute honey, it’s almost over,” as images of wrestlers Wahoo McDaniel and Rick Flair battling for a Mid-Atlantic Heavyweight Championship reflected in his eyes. With a heavy sigh, she carried her suitcase to the car and finished packing it for the trip to the hospital. My mother was keen to say, “If Flair had not pinned Wahoo when he did, Selma would have been born in the front yard.”

Fast forward 10 years. An excerpt from the epic tale, “What I want to be when I grow up,” by Selma Pittman: “When I grow up I want to be a FBI agent, a painter, a fighter pilot, a race car driver and an astronaut. Maybe a lawyer and doctor too!”

Fast forward 23 years. Reality is a cruel mistress. While pursuing my Criminal Justice degree, I was distracted by the shiny glow of a computer screen. Years later, I parlayed my interests in shiny electronic gadgets and a genetic condition called “stubbornness” into a career in Project Management.

In my personal time I enjoy gaming, photography, cooking, writing my memoirs and collecting Nerf guns and 80’s toys. I can often be seen at the dog park with my one true love, Rufus, a two year old border collie who is way cooler than I am.
