Meet Mike Finger
Somewhere in the depths of the Ithaca College library in upstate New York, there is a collection of student films. If you look for the most overdone art film, you will find mine. Fortunately, I spared the world my cinematic visions and did not pursue a career in filmmaking.
Instead, I wandered down the east coast. After talking my way into a job as a brewer apprentice at a brewpub, I settled in Wilmington, North Carolina. Completing my degree at UNW-Wilmington, I would later come to discover my fiercest debating foe in a Political Science class was my future wife. But that discovery would take three more years, a brief stint in New York City, and an eventual return to Wilmington.
Never one to resist a foolish challenge, I had some friends talk me into a sprint triathlon last January (in a bar…over beers…with their iPhone open to the online sign-up). This has led to a quite expensive hobby and a pretty good excuse to swim, bike and run five to six days a week. And while not as active as in recent years, I still hop up on the old man Stewart longboard on occasion.
So, between trying to out debate my wife, chase down two hound dogs, train for triathlons, and staying current on programming trends, work is a vacation.
