Meet Erik Murphy
I was born at a young age in Phoenix, AZ. Since then I’ve lived in Florida, Germany, Illinois and finally North Carolina. I attended NC State University and graduated in 08’ with a BS in Comp Science.
In college, I fell in love with programming while writing Assembly code on an 8086 processor! Can’t say I want to do that again, but I loved the challenge of writing efficient code. Programming to me is like solving a puzzle. Since then, that interest has broadened from basic coding into the areas of database optimization, software engineering and design patterns. I’m always looking to learn a more efficient and elegant way to solve problems.
When I’m not busy being a geek, you will find my wife and I spending every waking hour doing college ministry with our church at NC State. My passion is in mentoring students, coaching leaders, teaching the Bible, debating theology and just being a friend! I also like most competitive activities, but my favorites would have to be martial arts, nerf wars, playing ninja and any sport involving a disc. My philosophy when it comes to sports is that I would rather play one than watch one.

Erik graduated from NC State University with a BS in Computer Science in 2008. His scholastic and work experience has kind of been all over the place. He started with basic HTML and CSS back in High School. In college, he moved into using PHP and MySQL. Then, he spent a good length of time in the Java/JSP world. More recently, he has been working with Flex/AS3, C# and MSSQL.
