I am the husband of my high-school crush (though the feeling wasn't mutual until a couple years after leaving college), I am the father of the most beautiful three kids ever born, I am a U.S. Marine, I am a runner, and I am an evangelist of the good. My free time is spent mostly with my wife, my kids, and my running shoes. I find refreshment outdoors being active, but I like a good book, too. I love art, music, sports, and an ice-cold brew on a hot day. My background and experience is rather varied. I enjoy programming and designing web sites, working on cars, doing carpentry and home renovation, painting/drawing, writing music and playing guitar, and about a thousand other things.

I was born and raised in Raleigh, NC, though I attended high school in Europe, and lived in California, Texas, and Hawai’i while in the Marine Corps. Upon leaving active service, I moved to Florida and then went to Virginia, and now I’m back in North Carolina. I’ve been a runner my whole life (I sprinted the 400 and 4x400 from grade school up through college, and have now moved on to ultra-marathon events). I get this weird kick out of running on the hottest of days of the year when the heat just about burns out your lungs and makes you beg for reprieve.

Professionally, I started web design and programming in the Marine Corps, creating static web sites with HTML/CSS straight out of Notepad and managing proprietary databases as well. After leaving active service, I moved on to do web application coding with ColdFusion in Dreamweaver and Eclipse, adding in some SQL Server database programming. For the next six years, I worked in ColdFusion on several defense and federal contracts in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina, focusing my work in the areas of web application development and database development and administration in both Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. I have used frameworks and information technology infrastructures extensively. In 2008, I started gaining a desire to leave the code behind and start managing projects, and Atlantic BT gave me the opportunity to start reaching that goal in July of 2010.
