You’re articles is definitely one of the most interesting I’ve read in a while. I’ve never really considered how grand the effect of social validation is. We tend to overlook how important or serious something may be, simply because we’re trying to follow the “popular crowd.” That’s why big companies like apple are so successful. They know that their products are must haves, in order to be popular. Thanks for this article. I’ll be looking forward to reading more from you.

I think this also applies to content on the internet. If someone with little visibility/credibility in the industry writes an article and submits it to his/her blog, it will most likely not get picked up by other news sources (unless it is extremely viral). However if you take that same blog post and submit it to a site that has lots of industry credibility and a trusted person speaks highly of it, that has a much better chance to gain better visibility.
